FishEdge (“FishEdge,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides marine-information tools for anglers and captains. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create or use an account, our authentication provider, Supabase, may process your email address, authentication credentials, and the profile information you choose to provide, such as your name, phone number, or selected region.

Usage and device information

The dashboard may use PostHog for product analytics, such as page views, feature usage, and basic device or browser information. We use this information to understand reliability and improve the product. The marketing site is intended to operate without advertising cookies or marketing telemetry.

Local browser storage

Our sites and authentication flows may use cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage to keep you signed in, remember temporary workflow state, remember display preferences, and support authentication across the FishEdge app.

Location information

The optional “Locate me” feature requests location through your browser only after you choose it and grant permission. The feature displays your position on the map in your browser and is designed not to send GPS coordinates to FishEdge servers. You can revoke permission through your browser or device settings. If you enable the optional remember-position setting, your browser may store the last position locally on your device.

Messages you send us

If you email us, we receive the contact details and message contents needed to respond and provide support.

How we use information

• Provide, secure, and maintain FishEdge accounts and services.
• Deliver requested marine data, maps, and product features.
• Respond to support requests and product feedback.
• Understand usage, diagnose problems, and improve reliability.
• Detect abuse, protect the service, and comply with legal obligations.

Service providers

FishEdge uses service providers that support hosting, authentication, analytics, email, and marine-data delivery. These currently include Cloudflare for hosting and data delivery, Supabase for authentication and related application data, and PostHog for dashboard analytics. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, support accounts, meet legal requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. No internet service is completely secure, but we use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle.

Your choices

You may manage browser permissions, clear local browser storage, disable optional location access, or request account assistance by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information. Contact us and we will review your request.

Children

FishEdge is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as FishEdge changes. We will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to captains@fishedge.live.
