Terms of Service & End User License Agreement

Please read these terms carefully before accessing or using FishEdge. These Terms of Service and End User License Agreement (“Terms”) govern your access to FishEdge, including fishedge.live, the FishEdge dashboard, data feeds, interactive maps, web applications, and related tools (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing, registering for, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Service.

Critical marine safety and navigational disclaimer

The Service is provided for tactical fishing planning and informational purposes only. Satellite imagery, sea surface temperature (SST) charts, chlorophyll data, ocean currents, thermal breaks, associated waypoints, and other Service content are not a certified nautical chart and must never be used for primary marine navigation or avoidance of maritime hazards.

Offshore boating and fishing are inherently hazardous activities. You, as the vessel master or operator, maintain sole responsibility for the safe operation, navigation, routing, seaworthiness, and safety of your vessel, crew, and passengers. FishEdge makes no warranty regarding the real-time accuracy, cloud penetration, spatial precision, or latency of satellite observations or other data. You expressly assume all risks associated with offshore transit and fishing operations. Always use current official navigation, weather, and safety sources.

The service, accounts, and seat license

FishEdge provides marine information, maps, visualizations, data feeds, and related software for planning and understanding ocean conditions. Features may change, be limited during a pilot, or become unavailable without notice. Some features require an account or subscription. You are responsible for providing accurate information, protecting your credentials, and all activity under your account.

Each account is licensed for a single user and a single vessel. You may not share credentials, session tokens, or live map links across multiple vessels, third-party charter fleets, or non-subscribing third parties. Concurrent sessions and IP access patterns may be monitored to enforce this restriction.

Proprietary rights and grant of license

Subject to these Terms, FishEdge grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and view Service data layers for your personal or internal commercial vessel operations. This license ends automatically when your account is suspended or terminated, or when you breach these Terms. FishEdge and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the Service.

All algorithms, neural-network outputs, color palettes, vector tiles, edge-detection renderings, frontend code, map layers, software architecture, text, designs, branding, and original visualizations remain the exclusive intellectual property of FishEdge or its licensors. You acquire no ownership rights in any data feed, map layer, or software architecture. No rights are granted to use FishEdge’s names, logos, trademarks, or other brand features without prior written permission.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, translate, adapt, create derivative works from, frame, mirror, display, publish, distribute, or commercially exploit any part of the Service except as expressly permitted by these Terms. Any permitted operational screenshots or reports must not expose credentials, session tokens, private links, or bulk data and must not imply FishEdge endorsement.

Restrictions and anti-scraping prohibitions

You may use FishEdge only for lawful personal or internal commercial planning consistent with these Terms. You strictly agree not to:

• Access, extract, copy, or monitor any portion of the Service or its underlying tile servers using automated means, including bots, spiders, scrapers, crawlers, or scripts.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or derive the source code or proprietary processing algorithms of the Service.
• Resell, sublicense, broadcast, syndicate, or redistribute FishEdge map layers, thermal-front coordinates, or data feeds without prior written consent.
• Interfere with Service infrastructure, rate limits, or network bandwidth, or attempt unauthorized access.
• Use the Service to violate a law, regulation, or another person’s rights, or to upload malicious code or transmit spam or harmful content.

User feedback and submissions

If you submit suggestions, ideas, bug reports, feature requests, or other feedback about FishEdge, you grant FishEdge a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and otherwise exploit that feedback for any purpose without compensation or attribution. Do not submit confidential information, third-party data, or material you do not have the right to provide.

Third-party services and links

FishEdge relies on third-party services for hosting, authentication, analytics, and data delivery, and may link to third-party sites. Those services are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party availability, content, or practices.

Subscription, suspension, and termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of FishEdge. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without refund, if we detect credential sharing, abnormal tile scraping, or another breach of these Terms, or if your use creates risk or is unlawful. You may stop using the Service at any time.

Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FishEdge and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, fuel expenditures, vessel damage, personal injury, or loss of life arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

Changes and contact
